Effects of pulse interference on FDM/FM multichannel telephony transmissions of the fixed satellite service
Abstract
The results of an investigation of the manner in which transmissions of the radiolocation service affect the performance of FDM/FM multichannel telephony transmissions of the fixed satellite service are summarized. Equations that describe the boundary values of interference noise power resulting from a cochannel radar signal are derived empirically from the observed data. The equations demonstrate the concept of two degradation regions of FDM/FM communication systems subjected to pulsed radar interference based upon the desired carrier-to-peak radar pulse interference power ratio.
