Modern active filter design
Abstract
Design considerations are examined, taking into account a sensitivity analysis of third-order filters, sensitivity minimization in a single amplifier biquad circuit, multiparameter sensitivity in active RC networks, an active compensation of high-frequency effects in op-amp circuits with applications to active RC filters, the noise performance of RC-active quadratic filter sections, the noise characteristics of cascaded 2nd-order active filters, and the optimization of the dynamic range and the noise distance of RC-active filters by dynamic programming. Other topics discussed are related to second-order filter sections, the design of high-order filters, fabrication, and techniques for monolithic continuous analog active filters. Techniques for monolithic switched-capacitor filters are considered, giving attention to MOS switched-capacitor filters, switched-capacitor filter design using the bilinear z-transform, the basic principles of switched-capacitor filters using voltage inverter switches, and an exact analysis of switched capacitor circuits with arbitary inputs.
