Does resistance to jamming require bandwidth expansion
Abstract
Under assumptions that are realistic for military tactical communications links, it is shown that a highly jam-resistant communication system can be designed with a modest expansion of bandwidth. This is possible due to the spatial filtering that results from weighting the signals from the elements of the antenna array by the components of an eigenvector of the cross-correlation matrix of the complex-envelopes of these signals.
