Kronecker products in communication theory
Abstract
Kronecker matrix products have found application in a variety of communication problems involving random parameters. Their elementary matrix-algebraic properties are briefly summarized. Using these, linear relations between random quantities imply linear relations between their corresponding second moments. This result yields transfer-function statistics for various one-dimensional wave propagation problems with random parameters. Calculation of spectra for digital angle-modulated signals offers a different application. Simple examples for these two general areas illustrate the power of these methods.
