Interactive communications systems simulation model - ICSSM
Abstract
The Interactive Communication System Simulation Model (ICSSM) is a non-real-time digital-computer-based system intended for simulating point-to-point communications system, including functional elements, processing components, propagation effects, and transmission media. The ICSSM has the capability to simulate multiport digital communications systems in great variety, and provides a flexible, expandable, general, easy-to-use means to configure specific communications system simulation models. Objectives and influences regarding the ICSSM system design are discussed, taking into account the employed 'block diagram' approach to communications system modeling, and the ICSSM event-step simulation. Attention is also given to an ICSSM description and the role of ICSSM in supporting the analysis of communication system performance.
