Recent results in main beam nulling
Abstract
The use of an adaptive, multibeam antenna, which nulls main-beam interferers while tracking and receiving the friendly signal, can significantly reduce the size of the link outage region which results when interferers pass through the main beam of a receiving antenna aboard an aircraft. A multibeam adaptive antenna system which responds to these technical requirements has been designed and partially fabricated. Details of the system design are reviewed, as are preliminary results of laboratory and antenna test range experiments.
