Analytical method to design oscillators with optimal noise spectra using the bilinear transformation
Abstract
A new method to design cavity stabilized oscillators is proposed. This method makes possible the calculation of the parameters of the network to be designed between the active device and the stabilizing cavity. The network simultaneously gets the conditions of oscillation and optimum noise performance. The configuration of some networks having the same parameters is also discussed. Finally, several Gunn diode oscillators, stabilized by means of transmission and reaction cavities, have been designed. The achieved results demonstrate the validity of the design method.
