Some scheduling algorithms for SS-TDMA systems
Abstract
This paper considers the problem of time-slot assignment in SS-TDMA communication satellite systems. A criterion for burst scheduling in such systems consists in maximizing the utilization of the frame interval by reducing to its minimum value the transmission time needed to convey the total traffic. Here this criterion is taken into consideration together with other parameters such as the number of switch reconfigurations in a frame. Several algorithms for time-slot assignment subject to various constraints have been considered and tested.
