Experimental packet communication system via K-band Japanese Communication Satellite
Abstract
This paper describes an experimental satellite communication system working in a computer network in which many widely distributed users can share a large computer located in a central station. The central station and many users are connected via 2 or 3 64 Kbps 4-phase PSK SCPC channels through a K-band (30/20 GHz) transponder in a Japanese experimental communication satellite. The purpose of the experiment is to investigate the feasibility and the performance of data link protocol, and various multiple access techniques in the presence of satellite round trip delay and in K-band environment.
