Design and evaluation of a pressure sensor for high temperature nuclear application
Abstract
A small eddy current pressure sensor for use within a high temperature nuclear environment was designed for use at pressures and temperatures of up to 17.23 MPa and 650 F. The design of the sensor incorporated features to minimize possible errors due to temperature transients present in nuclear applications. The prototype pressure sensor, the associated 100 kHz signal conditioning electronics, and the evaluation tests which were conducted are described.
