Improved instrument for the measurement of thermal conductivity of non-electrolyte liquids
Abstract
An improved instrument for the measurement of thermal conductivity of nonelectrolyte liquids was developed. The specific objective was to design and construct an innovative transient hot wire thermal conductivity apparatus to measure the thermal conductivity of organic liquids at ambient conditions and at high temperatures and pressures. Specificially, the instrument was verified using toluene and the thermal conductivities of two coal liquid fractions are to be determined over a specified range of temperature and pressure.
