Gas cooled electrical leads for use on forced cooled superconducting magnets
Abstract
The fabrication and testing of a pair of single tube leads which carry one fifth of the time projection chamber (TPC) magnet current is described. Since one of the TPC magnet leads is horizontal within the vacuum chamber, the test leads were tested in a near horizontal position. The performance of the composite TPC magnet lead or the performance of other leads built with multiple tube bundles can be predicted.
