Theoretical characterization of a dual purpose gamma thermometer
Abstract
The gamma thermometer (G.T.) is evaluated for measuring the local heat generation rate (LHGR) in a pressurized water reactor and as a fluid level indicates for in core measurements. The gamma thermometer is described. A theoretical analysis of the feasibility of using the GT to measure power level and fluid level without compromising either function is presented.
