Pseudo-spectral space-time calculations of incompressible viscous flows
Abstract
Accuracy of the time schemes and complexity of the involved geometry are two main problems for pseudo-spectral calculations. A set of new methods, with spectral schemes for time derivative calculation, finite difference schemes used as preconditioning of an iterative process, and mapping (conformal or not) has been developed. Solutions of two-dimensional and three-dimensional flows, with the accuracy (for space and time) of the spectral methods, and with the flexibility of the finite difference methods have been obtained.
