Investigation of the three-dimensional interaction of a shock wave with an obstacle
Abstract
The paper considers the most effective combination of experimental and numerical methods for the study of three-dimensional unsteady gas flows with shock waves. As an example, the initial state of interaction of a plane shock wave with a step of finite width is considered. In the experiment, the shock wave was generated in an open space at atmospheric pressure and room temperature at the exit of a conical nozzle. A monotonic difference scheme of second order of accuracy in regions of continuous flow was used for the analysis. Results are presented on the shock loading of the obstacle.
