Active molecular plasma in a magnetic field
Abstract
A theoretical study is presented of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in an active molecular plasma in a constant magnetic field; such plasmas can occur, for example, in high-power gas lasers. Particular consideration is given to the instability of longitudinal and transverse plasma oscillations excited by the interaction of free electrons with the active component of the plasma. It is shown that the magnetic field can play a stabilizing role.
