Design of a cylindrical superconducting electromagnetic levitation device
Abstract
A design method is presented for an electromagnetic levitation device wherein a superconducting cylinder is levitated in the magnetic field of a coil. The method is illustrated by an example; the relationship between the force acting on the cylinder end and its distance from the coil is shown graphically.
