Spectral characteristics and electrical parameters of a positive glow-discharge column in He + F2 and Kr + F2 mixtures
Abstract
The emission spectra in the visible, wavelengths of the positive glow-discharge column, and physical parameters of the plasma in He + F2 and Kr + F2 mixtures have been studied as a function of the particle composition of the mixture. It is shown that in He + F2, abrupt changes in the intensity of fluorine and helium transitions are associated with varying physical parameters of the plasma and electrical characteristics of the process, whereas in Kr + F2 such changes may be related to quenching processes which play an important role in excimer lasers.
