Polarization control of anisotropic-cavity laser radiation
Abstract
The polarization plane rotation angle of laser radiation is investigated analytically for a model laser as a function of cavity loss anisotropy and Faraday effect in the magnetic crystal, with allowance for multiple radiation reflection by the cavity mirrors. Changes in the direction of linear radiation polarization are examined both for transient and steady-state lasing conditions. Numerical results are presented for a laser with two Brewster windows using a Y3Fe5O12 single crystal for polarization control.
