Approximate solution of one problem of heat conduction in the presence of a moving heat source
Abstract
The paper considers the contact friction problem of determining the temperature field arising in steady state heat transfer from a heat source moving along the surface of a half space. The exact solution of the problem is presented and then used to obtain a simpler approximate solution. The accuracy of the approximate solution is evaluated, and attention is given to the relation of this solution to a special onedimensional nonsteadystate problem of heat conduction.
