Regenerative fiber-optic quantum amplifier
Abstract
Experimental results show that a fiber-optic neodymium quantum amplifier operates in the regenerative amplification mode. The minimum intensity that can be effectively amplified by the active fiber is 0.01 W; a gain of 100,000 has been obtained for an active fiber length of 40 cm.
