Investigation of the temperature field of a hollow cylinder of finite size in the case of heat transfer from the internal and external surfaces
Abstract
An analysis of regular unsteady heat transfer from the internal and external surfaces of a hollow cylinder of finite size is presented. A formula for calculating the optimum time of heating and cooling is derived, and an empirical expression defining the first root of the characteristic value of the Biot number is obtained.
