Guide to the use of data items in the design of bonded joints

This Data Item is available as part of the ESDU Sub-series on Structures. Guidance is provided for the use of the analytical procedures presented in similar data items as aids in the design of bonded joints. Examples of the adhesive material properties required for use with the data are given together with recommendations on how to obtain such properties. Attention is drawn to important factors affecting joint strength not covered by the analytical procedures and references are provided as a source of further information. Notes are also provided on the principal complementary or alternative methods currently available.
