KOMSYS: A communication system for process piloting
Abstract
The KOMSYS is a real time communication system which supports up to 12 video screens and up to 16 teleprinters. KOMSYS represents an interface between a current data processor and a data processor with real time tasks. Syntax and admissibility testing of the task protects the system from predictable wrong connection indicators. A selective input/output and error protocol gives a subsequent analysis for operating conditions and alleviates the sometimes necessary improvements of the total system. The KOMSYS design emphasized simple operation, clarity, and easy adjustment of hardware structure.
