Some methods to connect a windpower induction generator to the utility network
Abstract
When an induction generator is switched on to a grid, heavy inrush currents may appear, which may result in a transient voltage variation. By using inductors or thyristors in series with the generator, or capacitor excitation before synchronizing it, the inrush currents could be limited to acceptable levels.
