Radiation pressure models for the satellite orbits theory
Abstract
Models were developed in order to precisely determine radiation pressure. With a view to geodetical use of precise laser rangefinding measurements, the study was limited to spherical satellites. For a full sphere, equations are set up for the radiation pressure force, for total absorption, and for reflection. For a satellite in the neighborhood of the Earth, the characteristics of the two radiation sources Sun and Earth are discussed and the two corresponding forces are calculated. For a spherical satellite, the radiation pressure of Sun, Earth albedo, mirroring reflection on the Earth surface, and the IR radiation pressure are calculated.
