Analysis of synchronizers with delay in the presence of multiple path
Abstract
A synchronizer composed of a delay line, summing, selective filter, forming network and zero crossing was studied. The feed signal was of a 4PSK type at a relatively low frequency. The two binary sequences were obtained by pseudorandom generators. Thermal noise was simulated by FORTRAN subroutine. It is shown that for signal to noise (SNR) larger than 10dB the average zero crossing is practically independent of the SNR, but the standard deviation increases considerably at the lower values of the SNR. The presence of the synchronizer improves the receiver performance substantially.
