Solid-electrolyte oxide-ion electrode for molen nitrates
Abstract
An oxide ion sensitive electrode of the type Pb, PbO/ZrO2(Y2O3)// was constructed and its performance tested in the binary, equimolar molten salt NaNO3-KNO3 over the temperature range 336 to 350 C. The response of this electrode to oxide ion concentrations over the range 10 to the minus 6th to 10 to the minus 10th moles/kg is linearly dependent upon log 0/sup = /, and dE/dlog 0/sub =/ corresponds to a two-electron process.
