Computer program description: An improved finite element program for three-dimensional electromagnetic problems
Abstract
The program described may be used to find the three dimensional time harmonic electric or magnetic field in a volume containing linear, sourceless, isotropic materials with varying and lossy permitivity or permeability. In general the program has application in cases for which the geometry does not permit a reduction in the dimension of the underlying three dimensional differential equations. The program may be used to find the field patterns and resonant frequencies of loaded cavities. It may also be used to solve a wide range of waveguide scattering problems, by first formulating them as loaded cavity problems.
