Basic investigations of an absorption heat pump, using heat of median temperature (heat transformer)
Abstract
It is noted that heat transformer circuits enable temperature rises without requiring any real high grade energy. The fundamental thermodynamics are described, and an outline of the present state of technology and of previous work in the field of heat transformer circuits is presented. In order to assess their suitability for the execution of this process, work media and plant concepts and components were looked at. Besides the thermodynamic construction of one and two stage plants, the applicability of the system was analyzed using laboratory equipment, and the application potential and productiveness of heat transformer circuits were estimated. From the results of these theoretical and experimental studies it is deduced what research and development work will be necessary for the further development of the system.
