Development of a fire in a room from ignition to full room involvement: RFIRES
Abstract
The computer code RFIRE, developed to predict the response of a room to the burning of items within it, is documented. The model considers a rectangular room with a single door or window opening to a large reservoir of clean air. Up to 10 rectangular, box-shaped fuel items are considered. Flow charts, input and output instructions, code listing, summary of physical equations, results of comparisons to experimental fires, sensitivity analyses, and probabilistic descriptions of fuel item burning rates are included.
