Some characteristics of scanning antenna arrays in the ultrashort-wave range
Abstract
A quantitative analysis of the parameters of scanning antenna arrays in the ultrashort-wave range is presented, with allowance for the reflection of waves from the earth's surface, additional sidelobes may arise, whose magnitude is independent of the total amplitude distribution of excitation along the array. The level of additional sidelobes depends on the distribution of excitation along the half-period, and the sinusoidal distribution along the half-period is found to be optimal.
