Calculation of signal detection characteristics in the case of the elimination of indeterminacy with respect to a noninformational parameter
Abstract
The paper examines the calculation of the signal detection characteristics of a system invariant to the value of the noninformational parameter of the received signal; indeterminacy with respect to this parameter is eliminated by multichannel processing of the signal followed by sampling with respect to the maximum. An example of such a system is a device for the time synchronization of a PSK signal with an unknown frequency. The probability of correct detection is studied as a function of the number of channels in the case of a fixed SNR at the input of the detector and a fixed false-alarm level.
