Field components, energy distribution, and damping of the fundamental E/x/11 and E/y/11 modes in a rectangular dielectric waveguide on a dielectric substrate
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results are presented on the characteristics of polymer rectangular waveguides on dielectric subtrates in the 110-160 GHz range. It is shown that the asymmetric distribution of the electric and magnetic field components of E(x)11 and E(y)11 modes with respect to cross section in such waveguides has a significant effect on the energy distribution and the damping of the E(x)11 and E(y)11 modes.
