Resonant scattering of electromagnetic waves by thin conductors in a rectangular waveguide
Abstract
The scattering of electromagnetic waves by thin conductors, arranged arbitrarily in a rectangular waveguide, is examined. On the basis of the principle of averaging, an asymptotic expression is derived for the current in a thin conductor of any length, including the resonance length. Resonant frequencies are computed for a thin conducting rod with reference to its length and its slope angle. Solutions can be applied to the study of resonant antennas and microwave waveguide devices.
