The theory of a synchronized SAW oscillator
Abstract
The method of slowly varying amplitudes is used to examine the external locking of an oscillator with a SAW delay line in the feedback circuit. It is shown that, when the oscillation frequency deviates from the frequency of acoustoelectronic locking, the SAW oscillator is nonisochronous even with a zero-delay active element. As an example, attention is given to the external locking of an oscillator with an unmatched SAW delay line, in the case of a cubic approximation of the output current of the active element.
