Diffraction of plane electromagnetic waves by a semiinfinite grid of parallel wires
Abstract
An analysis is presented of the diffraction of plane electromagnetic waves by a semiinfinite grid of wires parallel to its edge. Averaged boundary conditions and factorization are used in solving the problem. Uniform asymptotic formulas are obtained for projections of the scattered field and the averaged current density. Theoretical results on amplitudes of edge waves are compared with experimental data, and results are also presented in the Kirchhoff approximation.
