Absorption of an electrically polarized plane wave in a corrugated structure in a layered dielectric medium
Abstract
A numerical algorithm is developed for investigating the energy dissipation of an electrically polarized plane wave in an imperfectly conducting corrugated structure in a layered dielectric medium; the algorithm is validated for the case of a two-layer medium. The energy absorbed by the corrugated structure in a two-layer medium is studied as a function of incidence angle, and depth and period of the structure. Resonance bursts of absorption in the corrugated structure were found. The present results may find application in the design of microwave devices.
