Reflection of electromagnetic waves from a finite cylinder
Abstract
The method of boundary waves is used to determine the field in the vicinity of a beam specularly reflected from the lateral surface of a metallic cylinder with finite dimensions. Emphasis is placed on the role played by secondary terms of the ray expansion in forming the reflected field. Results of this work can be used to calculate bistatic values of the effective scattering surface and to calibrate measuring instrumentation.
