Strict solution for the excitation of a dielectric antenna
Abstract
A mathematical model is developed for the strict solution of the problem of dielectric-antenna excitation. The problem is reduced to a system of integral equations relative to equivalent electric and magnetic currents on the surface of the dielectric and the flow of electric currents onto the surface of the feed waveguide. A numerical solution to the integral equations is obtained, and the far field is determined on the basis of a known current distribution. Divergences of the radiation patterns obtained from the strict and approximate solutions are investigated.
