A device for studying the microhardness of refractory materials during high-temperature cyclic loading
Abstract
A test apparatus has been developed which makes it possible to study the kinetics of structural changes in the surface layer and measure the microhardness of materials concurrently with high-temperature fatigue testing under symmetrical and asymmetrical loading. The fatigue testing is carried out at 35 Hz in the temperature range 20-1200 C, either in a vacuum of 5 x 10 to the -7th mm Hg or in inert gas at a gage pressure of 2 atm.
