Proton-Proton correlations in high-energy nuclear collisions
Abstract
Two-particle coincidence data are studied by the linear cascade model. In heavy-mass collision systems, the correlated contribution becomes obscured by an uncorrelated background. The height and the position of the quasi-elastic peak is sensitively influenced by the background term and by correlations due to the sharing of energy and momentum among more than two particles.
