Free Energy for the Lifshitz Point in the Disordered Phase and Mobility of Piezo-Polaron at Low-Temperature
Abstract
The free energy for the biaxial Lifshitz point is calculated to order. (epsilon) = 5 - d in the disordered phase. For another model of first order transition in UO(,2), magnetic susceptibility is calculated for the disordered phase. In both cases trajectory integral technique is used. In the second part of the thesis, mobility of piezo-polaron is calculated in the weak coupling limit at low temperature. The result for mobility is,.
