Two-phase cocurrent vertical air-water flow in rectangular ducts
Abstract
The two phase flow of air and water in rectangular channels was investigated. Double tipped optical fiber probes and hot film anemometers were used measure the local mean variables in such a flow. These include: gas void fraction, gas velocity and liquid velocity. The theoretical modeling test some of the constitutive relationships. A one dimensional two fluid model was presented as well as a fully developed one. It was found that single phase turbulent shear stress relations could be used to simulate shear in bubbly and slug flow for engineering purposes.
