Time dependent laser equations for finite phase memory decay constant
Abstract
The rotating wave approximation is applied to the semiclassical equations of the threelevel laser system to obtain the firstorder spacetime dependent equations. These equations are transformed to a set of four space averaged time dependent equations with auxiliary functions which are determined approximately. The time dependent equations properly describe the laser pulse at least for the phase memory decay constant of γ ⪆ 10 ^{7} s ^{1}.
