Experimental methods in rarefied gas mechanics
Abstract
Modeling techniques used in rarefied gas dynamics are reviewed. The discussion covers structural characteristics of the various types of low-pressure wind tunnels, diagnostics of low-density gas flows, methods for measuring aerodynamic forces acting on the model in low-density gas flows, and methods for measuring convective heat flows in low-pressure wind tunnels.
