Laser Doppler velocity measurements in the three-dimensional flow of a jet in a square enclosure
Abstract
An experimental investigation of axial mean- and turbulence velocities in jet induced flow in a square sectioned enclosure was performed using a Laser Doppler Anemometer. The signal processing was done by means of a frequency counter and a Multichannel Analyzer. The data reduction was performed on a minicomputer. Experimental data are shown for the axial variation of the maximum mean and turbulence velocities. For three cross-sections detailed measurements of axial mean and turbulence velocities are reported. The central jet flow was found to be almost axisymmetric whereas the recirculation flow was three-dimensional.
