Spectral-time and energy characteristics of a laser system based on copper vapor and rhodamine 6zh solution
Abstract
An experimental study is presented on the generation characteristics of a laser system based on copper vapor and rhodamine 6zh solution, where the dye solution serves as a selector-amplifier of the 578.2 nm line of the copper-vapor laser (CVL) or as the active medium of a tunable laser. An analysis is presented of the intracavity and extracavity conversion from the 510.6 nm line to the 578.2 nm line of the CVL. It is shown that the insertion of the dye within the cavity of the CVL leads to an efficiency in excess of 90% with respect to the number of photons. Conditions under which single subnanosecond pulses can be generated in the CVL are established, and a high-efficiency narrow-band tunable laser is described which uses rhodamine 6zh dye as the active medium and is pumped by a CVL.
