A measuring complex for investigating the fluctuations of short-wave radio signals
Abstract
The principal characteristics of equipment installed in the radio astronomy department at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR for recording and processing the trajectory and energy parameters of radio waves are described. To demonstrate the capabilities of the complex, the energy spectra of the fluctuations of radio signals during daytime and nighttime are presented. The diurnal variation in the active height of reflection of an ordinary wave is traced. The characteristic dimensions of ionospheric inhomogeneities in the F region are determined, along with the velocities of the inhomogeneities.
