Experiment on the Extraction of Microwave Pulses from a Superconducting Cavity
Abstract
Microwave pulses are extracted from a superconducting cavity by changing mechanically the coupling factor to the output circuit. The peak output power is about 10 times that of the steady state. The results are explained fairly well by theoretical analysis. Possible improvements for obtaining high peak powers are discussed.
